I have put together all my parts. The GPU lights up and all the fans spin so its not dead. The PC however will not boot with the GPU in. I tried all the slots but i think only the first will work anyway. Without the GPU it boots up with integrated graphics so no issues. I don't know whether it is a GPU, motherboard, or PSU issue. I have no idea what to do...

1. Boot up with integrated graphics

2. Install the Nvidia drivers

3. Set display to PCIe in UEFI

4. Reboot with your cable into the graphics card

You're going to want at least 500W, I'd get 650W PSU just to be safe

EDIT: I did the same as Zeouls, ignore everything I just said

So I did all the above and still nothing. Not to mention I can’t install these Nvidia drivers until a GPU is detected in the system. But it won’t turn on with it in the system! I’ve updated the bios and everything on the mobo but every time I connect the card I get nothing from either on board graphics or the GPU... PCIe 1 is also set as default in the UEFI
