Laptop problem

Hi....I am currently using Asus vivo book s15 laptop. The laptop has an weird issue ...the CPU clock speed occasionally gets stuck at 0.40 GHz and performance significantly decreases. I tried to run Intel extreme tuning utility, and when I stress tested the CPU, the clock speed decreased to 0.40 GHz after a minute or two...its really annoying during playing games or video editing. 

Specs:

Intel core i5 8250u

Nvidia MX 150

8gb 2400mhz ram

Everything is up to date including the bios ..

Can anybody please help me out???
