FREESYNC not working

freesync is not working for me no matter what. im using an 1800x, rx 580, 16gb ddr4 ram, ga-ax370 k5 motherboard. my monitor is the AOC G2770PF. 

ive tied everything, ive downloaded and installed all of the latest drivers, im using displayport, ive selected 60fps for my monitor in windows and im gettting 60fps in game (capped). i play assassins creed origins mostly and the screen tear is just awful. ive enabled freesync in the radeon settings and still nothing. the windmill demo looks fine when i run it.
