AP vs normal WiFi

Wiechu

Hi!

I have a problem with my dad. I now have 2 routers in my home and 3 WiFi networks. router1 has 1 and router 2 has 2. I want to set router 2 as acces point, but my dad won't let me, because "i will have way worse signal in my roomlike from 5$ router". Can someone explain to him that his WiFi won't get any worse? I need AP to get acces to TV from my PC and without that i am not able to cenect to it. Or is there a way to set 2.4 GHz to work as AP and 5 GHz as WiFi network so i have 2 networks in my home instead of 2?

Your best bet will probably be to have an upstairs and a downstairs access point, keep them on different channels with different SSIDs and you shouldn't run into any issues.
