Corsair lightning node pro question

So I bought a lightning node pro for the lightning to go with all my other Corsair products, but I have a question about the leds. Do I need to connect both ends of my strips to the node pro, or just one end. Also how durable are them? My mom accidentally stepped on them

Hi, as far as i am aware, only one end has to be plugged in, i might be wrong, but judging by the videos i saw during my research only one end can be plugged in
