Alienware Thermal pads while repasting

I'm repasting it right now but I couldn't get the thermal pad side to pop free. All tutorials are on newer versions that aren't built exactly like mine. I was hoping to repaste and clean the fans to help some thermal issues, if it didn't dent it then Ive got bigger problems. So right now I can only repaste one side(without pad side) but the other I cant budge and don't want to damage it trying to remove it. This computers over 10years old and has never been opened other then fan cleaning. Any quick tips ?

Do I have to use new pads if I get it off or should I just continue pasting the one side.  The hope was I could make the computer back to manageable as the upgrades I want/need are about 200 under a digital storm build(due to inflated prices & limited options as its a laptop)
