DDR4 Ram Compatibility

Go to solution Solved by porina,

It'll almost certainly be ok based on the speed rating. Compatibility only really starts to get questionable over 3000 or so.

Hey guys just double checking for a friend:
Is a kit of Kingston HyperFuryX 16gb (2x8gb) 2666 compatible with the ROG STRIX Z370-E mobo? reason i ask is because i remember back when DDR4 was first introduced, there was alot of compatibility issues with different motherboards and this particular motherboard doesn't appear to show this kit of ram on the QVL so im sorta lookin for first hand experience if anyone knows.

Cheers guys.

I personally don’t know, but have you tried picking out the two components in PCPartPicker to see if it spat out any errors? I would try that. PCPartPicker’s compatibility tester isn’t 100% acurate but should give you a good starting ground.

Cheers.
