No, because Threadripper can only use unbuffered memory which maxes out at 16GB per DDR4 stick. You can have at most 8 sticks, so 128GB.

Thanks for the response Jurrunio.  So are there any load reduced dimms that are unbuffered yet?

at around 4:08 Linus says the 1TB number.  but that sounds like it’s in theory.  and no one has come up with a unbuffered load reduced dimm of that size?   So it’s possible, but no one has made them, and from the sounds of it, no one will anytime soon?  Which essentialy leaves only server setups then if one wants more than 128GB.

Hi just tested i have first gen mobo from gigabyte x399 pro ( latest bios F2 ) 

have 4 stick of 32 gb each and 4 stick of 8gb  =160 posted no problem and system recognises 

had to update to windows pro as home only can use 128gb  

had to lower speed from 3400mhz to 3000mhz  

my be due to  my previus ram 32gb rating of 4000mhz and new one is only 3600mhz  . .. but scores in r20 looks almost same from 12300 to 12000 not a big loss
