Hey guys, so today, one of my friends came up to me saying he couldn't get higher framerates by shifting to the lowest settings with an uncapped framerate limit.

To look into the matter we tried several things, the last was, I went to my very old laptop, config I can provide later, so what I did was I ran League of Legends in it, at 720P with the lowest settings I was getting approximately 25FPS in custom where I was alone killing minions. Then what I did was I started to crank up the graphics settings, I went to the point where all but shadows were at their highest settings, only shadows was on low, and I just saw a drop of only abour 2-3FPS. I literally am still confused how this works, so I then changed the settings more to turn on V-sync and Anti Aliasing, and guess what, only 2-3FPS more difference. Completely confused on why this is happening, would be happy if someone could actually tell me the rocket science behind this and how cranking up the settings to such extremes didn't hit my laptop like a truck.

League Of Legends isn't a terribly demanding game, is it?

What are your system specs?

if it doesnt change much when upping the graphics settings, i wonder if its the cpu maxing out? then you see slight changes in settings that can effect the cpu a bit kinda thing while your GPU has a bit of headroom. 720p puts more pressure on the cpu than gpu so its the first thing that pops into mind. what kind of hardware are you/your friend using to test this? Have you checked thermal temps to make sure no throttling and see if your cpu/gpu is already maxed out on low settings?

It is actually a very well optimized game, but what I'm concerned with is the fact that how does it do nothing.
Specs used while doing this experiment :
Celeron T3500 Dual-core (2.1GHz)
4GB DDR2 RAM (400MHz, dual channel, laptop dimms)
Integrated Intel GMA 4500M graphics

About the CPU and GPU usage, I haven't actually monitored all of that, but today I have exams in like 3 hours, so after I come back (this is the last exam btw), I'm going to use MSI Afterburner to draw a graph of what the CPU and GPU usage goes through. Note : besides running the game, I also sometimes listen to music and almost alway have google chrome on.

I'm awed about the fact that I went from lowest to highest without making my entire game crash,........by the looks of the hardware used you can guess why I'm saying this.

Update, so nevertheless I couldn't wait to play a bit, so played a game of normals, and just realized, it does  hit the system, but it's not a HUGE hit, it just drops to 15-18FPS at the setttings I've stated before, which is like a 10FPS drop from the average. What's going on?
