Gtx 1060 drivers problem

Hello, this is for a friend's pc. 

 

Specs: gigabyte z68x-ud3-b3, Intel i5 2500k, corsair tx850 and 8gigs of hyperx ram. 

 

The problem: I just installed fresh Windows 7 on the machine and I'm at the process of installing drivers, everything was working correctly until I installed the nvidia drivers(tried both straight just the drivers and downloading experience and installing them through there). 

The pc posts fine, goes to the logo screen and after that it's supposed to go to the welcome message and onto the desktop. After the Windows logo I just have a black screen with a responsive cursor and after about 2 mins it finally goes to the welcome message. 

 

Can this be fixed without reformatting again?

Does it always do it?  Seems to me like it is thinking about something.  Usually does updates at that point.

Check direct x for me just a shot in the dark here.  Send me a screenshot.

Sorry for being late I was downloading different Windows and I am currently installing them

dont let it update to 1709 or 1803 until you are sure Nvidia has a driver out that compensates for it messing with the driver.  Basically kicks the driver out and you default to generic.
