Hello! I am going to paint my Logitech G402 and I wanted to make sure that I am getting the right paints. I am painting them white with purple and black accents so a white base but all the side buttons are going to be purple and I am leaving some black parts too. For the white paint, I am looking at the Krylon 2420 Fusion Spray Paint, Satin White . For the purple paint, I am looking at the Testors Aerosol Lacquer Paint, 3-Ounce, Purple/Licious. And for the clear coat, I am looking at the Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating Aerosol Spray Are these the right choices? Through some research, I discovered that I should use lacquer paint but I'm not sure if that is the right type of paint or if there is an even more specific type I should be looking for. Also any tips for painting? I was told that I should do a couple light coats after fine sanding. Thanks!

You need to properly prep the surface and prime it before painting, the surface should be lightly scuffed with scotch brite or >400 grit sand paper especially if there is any gloss. As for the paints those look alright but I would suggest to do a test piece with some plastic tubing like ABS to see if the primer, paint and clear are compatible, sometimes different brands of paint and clear can cause fish eyes or cracking which is why it's commonly recommended to use the same brand or series of paints.

As long as your clear coat doesn't react badly with your base coats you're good, would test the different combinations on a scrap piece first.

Ok. Thanks for the help. I will check if I can get them all from the same brand and at least test them beforehand.

I have a general guide here under General Painting that goes over the specifics of prepping the surfaces and some painting techniques if you need more info:
