Can you Spray Paint an I/O Sheild?

I'm looking to order a motherboard that comes with an ugly, plain silver I/O shield, and I was wondering if it would do any harm to literally just spray paint the back part that faces outwards so that it matches my case more.

No harm. Just make sure you prep the surface well and use thin coats. Be aware that the small tabs that touch the I/O are there for ESD protection and aren't for decoration.

yes, scuff the aluminum with scotchbrite red (be careful, lots of sharp edges), clean with denatured (fast-drying) alcohol, and apply your favorite color.

Why denatured alcohol ever-clear never heart no one and bonus you can drink it while you paint.

Other way around denatured alcohol has additives in it to make pure alcohol undrinkable, it has to do with taxes and regulation.

well they usually denaturate it with undrinkable isopropil alcohol, or other forms of hydrocarbons. And drinkable alcohol is never pure alcohol, it's usually with many other stuff on it (beggining with water)

Tho I got the drinking one I was not sure if you know why to use it
