Hi There,

I am currently planning for University and am looking for advice for a new laptop. My budget is £2000-2500. I am from the UK, so US laptops are out.

I am studying Technical Theatre and will be using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and Photoshop daily. I also want to be able to use the laptop for gaming, so a 1060+ is preferred. I will be traveling a lot, so less weight is preferred.

This is where it becomes slightly more difficult, due to the programs used for my course, a touch screen is invaluable.

I have been looking at a Razer Blade 14, but research has shown that they might not be the most reliable. I have also been looking at a Surface Book 2 15", but I am unsure of its gaming potential and am not a huge fan of the 3:2 aspect ratio.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for all your help :)

NEVER get Razer laptops. Terrible quality and QC.

If you need touchscreen, 1060 GPU and portability, sb2 is the only choice. Keep in mind that it has many downsides like terrible upgradability, QC concerns, weird hinge design, OKish cooling etc
