Good upgrade?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LWHvfH I just wanted to know if this is a good upgrade from an AMD fx-6300 to this. If you are wondering where the GPU is, I have a GTX 1060 already. I'll be using this computer for gaming, recording, and editing. I wanted the mulitcore of the 2700x so that I can preview things faster and render faster. It would be greatly appreciated to rate.

A larger ssd would be good.

What psu will be used?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I would recommend a different ssd. I have that same one in my laptop and also put it in my mom's. Chrome is super slow to load on it, and sustained reads and writes are awful.

I was thinking of upgrading my PSU from the current 500 I believe bronze or silver 80+ to a modular 550.

Not all psu are equal. Do you have a model in mind?

was thinking of this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bkp323/seasonic-focus-plus-gold-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-550fx or this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/sMM323/evga-supernova-g3-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-220-g3-0550 but from what I've been told, the 2nd one isn't all too great, if I got the right one.

Refer to this post for finding yourself the best possible PSU. Don't cheap on your PSU as it is one of the most vital parts in a computer and a bad one can decide to kill all of your system.

They are both excellent psu. The Seasonic would be my choice, but either will serve you well. You might also consider something like the Corsair CX450M if budget was better spent on something else.

I could potentially go with this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3kL7YJ/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz75e250bam

I already have a 2tb SSHD, but it loads pretty slow, so I have thought about getting more storage considering I'm a content creator, and graphics designer. One reason why I have the other 2tb and ssd, so I can move the OS to the ssd, and a few games onto it.

That's a solid choice. Go with that instead
