Hi guys,

Specs

8600k OC'd 1.2v 4.5ghz

Asus Prime z370-p

8gb kingston hyperx fury

650w evga g2 psu

gtx 1060

212 evo cooler

Out of no where got BSOD and constant boot loop. Spent a day plugging hard ware in and out and trying different ram and ram slots etc. Restored oc's to stock in bios. Couldn't boot to desktop to launch in safe mode

Then decided to disable cores on the cpu and it would boot on 4 cores, but 5 and 6 cores active would continue boot loop.

Any ideas appreciated.

Since you can get into the bios to disable those cores to begin with, that makes me think it's a software side problem not a hardware issue.

Can you boot into safe mode?

If it boots into safe mode without needing to disable any cores, that pretty well confirms it for me.

Check the CPU power cable as well on both ends to make sure it's properly seated.

Is there a way to boot into safemode via bios? I couldn't seem to find the option and googling tells me Windows 10 needs to get to desktop first?

When the pc is booting instead of constantly clicking Esc/F1 you need to constantly press F8 this will open windows startup launcher

If it loads a boot launcher first choose your c drive and continue to press F8

Sorry for delay in reply haven't been home to my computer as much. So i booted up in 4 cores then configured to safemode boot then switched to 6 cores and successfully booted into desktop (horray).

Decided to update my bios also, now booting in 6 cores gives this bsod message irql not less or equal, booting in 4 cores works as normal.

Any ideas where to proceed next?
