hyperxcloud2 Hyperx cloud 2 microphone and sound problem

So I just bought them, plugged them in and windows detected it.
However, whenever I make the headset the default device I can't hear anything although it shows that sound is coming in (the green bar raises up)
In addition, the microphone doesn't work at all..
I went today to a lab and they tested the headset, everything worked just fine for them
so I guess the problem is with my PC.

It even works on my phone...
What do I do?

instead of selecting it as default device, whenever you need to use it, set it to hyperXcloud 7.1 (or whatever its called) in the windows sound manager.

also try manually configuring the input/output sources in the applications like discord etc. I had problems with mine and I just had to deselect and re-select the clouds in discord and skype for everything to work again - setting them as default device never worked for me either

I don't want the speakers to be my default although when they are they transmit sound to the headphones for some reason

Instead of using your MSI sound software. Just select the Audio device in windows by clicking the little speaker next to the taskbar. This is what I did when setting them up.

What do I do about the mic tho?

You selected them like this right? What are you using to test sound output and Mic input?  Also what speakers do you have?

It's weird how it's called something different to mine .Your monitor might have speakers. That's what's causing this option. Just checking you've got discord configured like this:

Have you got the headset plugged in with the USB. Or have you unplugged it from the sound dongle thing and have the 3.5mm jack plugged in? Perhaps trying a different port might net you something. All your settings in software are the same as mine so I'm ruling that out for now.

So, I plugged the headset to the dongle and it works great

My last headset was SS Siberia and it didn't have this kind of shit
