External Drive Not Mounting

Hey everyone, so my girlfriends external hard drive has stopped mounting. She uses a mac and the drive will not show up in finder. The drive does show up on disk utility and the options are not grayed out. The drive does power on and lights up. Any suggestions of ways to get the drive to mount, or software/companies to send the drive to? Thanks for any advice!
