Should i upgrade?

Go to solution Solved by TheGlenlivet,

If you have the money and will see improvements in your workflow or games, (which you will, the 8700K is an improvement over your Xeon) then go for it.

Hi Guys,

i am a bit of a struggle right now as i do not know if i should upgrade or not.

My current Build is this:

CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1231v3

MOB: Asrock h97 Pro4

RAM: 32GB of Kingston Ram

GPU: MSI GTX 1070

PSU: bequiet! Straigt power 11 450Watts

Case: Obsidian 750d

SSDs: 1x Adata 128GB, 1x Samsung 850evo 250GB, 1x Samsung 850evo 500GB

HDDs: 2x 1TB Toshiba

So before everyone hates me for anything, no i do not want to replace everything.

I think about upgrading my CPU, RAM and MOB.

I always looked forward to the Coffeelake i7s 8700k and 8700. So therefore i am really interested in those two.

Would probably get a decent cooler too because i want something else then this plastic cooler from intel that came with the xeon.

There should be nothing about bang for the buck or something like this.

But i am a bit curious if it is even worth it to upgrade now.

If i did not supply enough information please write a comment and then i can change that.

Thanks in advance

Toby

I am seeing an improvement but at the same time i see that my current build is running okayish. Sure some things are slower and some would be faster again after an upgrade. So thats is the situation i am in rightnow. Do i want the upgrade? Heck yeah! Do i need it? I seriously don't know to be honest.
