Hi Guys,

im currently trying to overclock my non-delid 8700K. its running at 1.3V at 4,8 Ghz on all cores.

but all my programms are showing, that its running at 4.76 or 4.77 Ghz. is that normal? (even on 100% load + its not throttling)

On some videos of Linus I saw that programs always show something like 4.79 instead of 4.8. But I have never seen it so "low".

am i doing something wrong?

Did you change anything about the BCLK? Also, what about windows' power saving features and thermal throttling?

BCLK is on default (100).

windows is on balanced with 5%min and 100%max useage.

thermal throttling is 0%. 75°C on stress test. at least thats what aida64 says..

Hm, this makes it kinda weird then, although I've heard of people's components not getting fully utilised for no obvious reason before...

It is perfectly normal to be around 0.5GHz above or below what you set, it is just that something things are not perfect. My system is set at 4.6 but it hovers at 4.56GHz.

PC:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X | AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE | 32 GB RAM | Arch Linux

Laptop:

MacBook Pro 13" (2019) | Intel Core i5 8279U | 8 GB RAM | macOS

Server:

Intel Core i7 6700K | 16 GB RAM | 2 TB HDD | Debian Linux
