Getting BSOD on Overclock?

Go to solution Solved by 3 Lions,

Seems to be an unstable overclock, back it off until it becomes stable.

Now just last night I installed my new Corsair H60 (2018) Liquid Cooler, thinking I’d obviously be able to achieve higher clocks.

So today I went for 4.2 GHZ, got into PUBG and about 5 seconds later I BSOD’d with the error code of the usual “whea_uncorrectable_error”. However, this is due to overheating. Why would my CPU be overheating with a brand new Liquid Cooler installed?

what CPU and voltages are you using?

also because it says ''Liquid'' cooler doesn't mean it can't overheat.

make sure the block is mounted down all the way, make sure you remove any plastic covers and apply thermal paste.

It’s an AMD FX-6300

It’s an AMD FX-6300, the CPU mount is secured down all the way as I checked last night, I smudged some of the thermal paste while putting it on last night, but most of it evened out?

Also, I made sure to check my temps after a test of 4.1 GHz (which is stable) and it was only 33•C, while the max operating temperature for an FX-6300 is 65•C+, so why would I be getting a BSOD in the first place?
