np, if u dont care about noise > fans 100% xD lol   0 curve kgo

na i know u want some silence too :P  thats why ^^  , dont worry about temps man they look fine. just sadly no headroom for oc

Hi guys, Can someone please explain me the difference between Core vs Socket temperature. I used a dozen of temperature tracking software and they all show different results. In the picture provided https://i.imgur.com/CYBwu3f.png , you can see 3 totally different readings of my CPU. Amd overdrive : 41c ,, MSI Control Centre 46c HWMonitor 28 and Core temp 29. I always used my motherboard smart CPU fan control to regulate the temperature of my CPU ( mostly 30% minimum and 55c targeted temperature) for the last two years, and never had problems with my CPU nor overheating, but recently I started becoming more and more paranoid about it. I now use software called MSI Control Centre with
CPU Fan Min 20%/40c/104F  to  CPU Fan Max 100%/62c/143F sliders, but this makes my cooler decently loud, and mostly around 35% on idle (~75% during gaming). What should I do ? I have no intentions with overclocking, I just want to make my CPU last as long as possible

GPU: R9 280x

Amd 8350 Stock with 212 EVO

Mobo: Gd65 990fxa

 Cooler MasterBox 5 , MCX-B5S1-KWNN-11 with 2 front and 1 back 120mm fans

socket temperature is the temp of ur actual socket

cpu temp = tcase ,  and core temp = actual cpu temp wht ppl refer to

Hey, Thanks for such a fast answer. So should I use my BIOS for regulating the cpu temperature or keep using my MSI Control centre which is on idle like 40% ?

Thanks in advance my friend, I'm pretty new to this thing

i personally dont use anything for regulation, i got a max temp for my fan curve, as soon my cpu hits that fans ramp up to 100%,  i run my fans mostly at 60% tho xD

id just set a fancurve in the bios based on temps that u comfy with, thats it   ,   personally i would just set max fan curve on 65-67*C for 100% and 20% for 30-40*C

Sadly I do not have an ability to make a curve, I can only choose Smart CPU Fan option where i can select minimum fan speed and targeted cpu temperature :(

that should be a curve, o,o

it means ummm if u set minimum fan speed to 10%  at 30*C      and 60*C at 100%   it will ramp up based on temperature +-

if it ramps up too quick u need to increase the max temp,  wouldnt let it go way highe then 65 tho cpu starts to throttle after 70

I have a pretty old Mobo (~2013)

And As you can see I can only select CPU Smart Fan Target and Fan Speed, So I cannot make a curve in bios like you suggested, but When using MSI Command Centre I can use it according to the socket cpu temperature which is way higher than the core ones ( ~15c), so my fan speed is like always on 50%.

If you understand what i'm trying to say

id say 70-75 max for socket temp, core 65 +-  , dont rly go higher then 75 on socket tho :v ( its to reduce the fan speed whopping insanely so quick ) , u dnt wannt be running 75 all the time

I used my Mobo with 50% minimal temperature and 60c targeted. Should I post you a stress test result if you know a lot about cpu's

stress test results are just basics , go ahead, and ye i know quite abit ( i also have my temp limit higher then average btw , dont go anything above wht i say lmao )

AIDA64 Extreme stress test for 7 minutes, I will be using my CPU mainly for Gaming, and on rare occasions, streaming

Thanks in advance

Also pay attention to the Fan speeds, are they ok ?

looks fine if u want a quiet system, if aida strss it to onl 50*C games will be around the same +-

try a prime95 small fft for 3minutes ( ul have maxtemp by then )

5 Minutes of the stress you've recommended. I also lowered my settings

50c Targeted and 50% minimal fan speed for the cpu

Also are my 50% fan speed for the case fans too low ? I've bought 3 new ones, 120mm's each

I also have 212 EVO for the last ~2 years or even a little bit more.

ur temps are all fine. but i wouldnt say there is room for oc :P

is the noise fine now? with the fan settings increased on wht i said

The noise it manageable, the main reason being I'm using headphones. I do not care about the noise I hear as long as I can keep my PC running' properly. Took me ~5 years of saving to get it,therefore my paranoia. Welcome to Eastern Europe comrade.

Thanks a lot btw, really helped me a lot
