I'm still planing a water cooled build and im still stuck on reservoir choices. I keep seeing pcs with a D5 pump?

What is a D5 pump and how do you attach it to a reservoir. I really don't want to have a standalone pump but i don't understand how the D5 attaches to a reservoir.

Also do you have to use the D5 with specific reservoirs or can i put it with an EK RES X3?

The manual probably gives the best picture of how it coupled togeather.

You can use the D5 with any reservoirs. There's obviously comes a few requirements. Like it has to be made for a D5 if it's a all in one unit (pump top and reservoir in one) or if it's a seperated pump top and reservoir only the pump top needs to be made for the D5. If they're seperate, it's just a matter of a couple of fittings and a piece of tubing.

Technically the pump is always something separtae, but you can buy pump-reservoir combos. For example: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xres-140-revo-d5-pwm-incl-pump

Otherwise you'll need something like a pump top and fittings.
