Hello everyone,

I just got back from a trip to New York and as per every trip I go on, I always shut my computer down in case Windows decides to turn it on and do an auto update. Anyway, I went to turn it on and for about 5 minutes or so, it got stuck on the post code "9C" on the display. After that, it goes to A0, and then eventually the motherboard splash-screen. Windows then loads, which takes a long time. My SSD is a Samsung 960 Evo 500GB, so Windows should load almost instantly. I looked up the code 9C and found that it has to do with the USB detect system, which doesn't make any sense, because before my trip, everything was working fine. In other words, I didn't plug in or take out any new USB devices.

Any help would be much appreciated, as this is getting to be extremely annoying. I have already cleared my CMOS to see if that would do anything, and to my dismay, it didn't.

Also I didn't know what other topic to post this in.

Thanks in advance!

Ethan Abramson

Unplug all USB devices and see if it boots clean.

Yeah that worked perfectly. What do I do from here?

Ok, thank you very much. I also turned on Intel Rapid Start and MSI Fast Boot. Don't really know what these do, but worth a shot. Thanks again!
