So, I dual-booted Windows with SteamOS but SteamOS for some could not sign into my account so I decided to just boot into windows and format the drive SteamOS was on, that was a terrible mistake. I rebooted windows and now im here stuck with grub rescue. Can anyone help me get it back working without having to reinstall windows?

Try booting directly from BIOS?  I had an issue with grub on a drive with a partition for Linux and If I chose the drive from BIOS it would let me boot into it.

Looks like there are a few different ways to fix it, depending on what you want to keep.

These are the instructions from the post that worked for me!

I had the same problem. I removed GRUB. Just download Windows 8 or 10 from another PC. Burn the iso into the USB with Rufus. Boot from USB, click Troubleshooting, then Command Prompt, and type:

Bootrec /fixmbr

Windows will start normally without Ubuntu's GRUB. You can reinstall Ubuntu again.
