Sims 3 not saving options or recognizing GPU

I've been playing the Sims 3 again after quite some time, but something really annoying is happening, whenever I try to change any graphical or autonomy level options, it resets itself when I go back into the menu, I tried editing Options.ini directly, that still didn't work.  On another subject, my GTX 1050 is way to new to be recognized (the latest the game knows (at least in my patch) is the 200 series.) and I have no idea how to get it to recognize a Pascal card.
