Posted March 24, 2018 I've got a 1440p monitor. When purchased, I set the scaling for Windows to 125% to make apps and text look a good size. Somehow, I managed to make Steam look good in this resolution, but without changing anything myself, it seems Steam is now extremely large on my screen. It fits fine, but the buttons, texts, and so on just seem too "in your face". Any ideas? Posted March 24, 2018 you have to restart to get scaling to work properly in windows usually. Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017) Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 138 is a good number. Every other app works fine, it's just Steam. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/909142-steam-resolution/#findComment-11170765 Share on other sites
 Posted March 24, 2018 Try right clicking the Steam icon on your desktop and then changing the scaling settings under Compatibility. Try all 3 settings. You have to completely exit Steam before changing these settings. I found this, might be worth a try: You can disable display scaling for an individual desktop app in Windows 10. Here’s how: Step 1: Select the search box in the taskbar, enter run programs, and then select Run programs made for previous versions of Windows in the search results. Step 2: In the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter, select Next. Step 3: Select your program from the list, and then select Next. Step 4: Select Troubleshoot program, select The program opens but doesn’t display correctly, and then select Next. Step 5: Select Program does not display properly when large scale font settings are selected, and then select Next. Step 6: Select Test the Program to open the app with the new settings. If it works, select Nextand save the settings. Otherwise, select Cancel. There has been an update to Steam recently that made it look and work much better with High DPI monitors. Check for Steam Client Updates.
