So I have just started ordering the components for my first PC build.

So far I have:

i5 3570k

Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz CL9

Asus P8Z77-V

EVGA GTX 670 FTW SIG2

I also plan on ordering the following:

NZXT Switch 810

Seagate 1TB 7200RPM 64MB

I'm still deciding on the SSD and CPU Cooler.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a reliable PSU preferably 650W-750W.

I would like it to be Modular/Fully Modular, NO COIL WHINE, Quiet and have 80 + Efficiency.

I'm struggling to decide on one because every time I find one that I like, there seems to be a review detailing it as bad and not to buy it.

Thanks

EDIT: I'm from the UK and my budget is around £100

My suggestion would straight up be Corsair's AX 750. It's 80+ Gold and fully modular. Been using it for a year and no problems at all. Corsair has awesome power supplies in my opinion. If you don't care about your money they have their newer AX seires which is 80+ platinum. There's also their HX Series which also come in 650w and 750w plus the HX series is semi modular which fits your requirement. You never said anything about budget so I'm giving you the cream of the cream

Corsair AX 750. That's the one I've been using so far and Corsair's power supplies are one of the most renowned and are very solidly built :)

the corsair builders are a disaster

If I had one wish, I would ask for a big enough ass for the whole world to kiss

This is the best deal I have found on the AX750: http://www.cclonline.com/product/54525/CMPSU-750AXUK/Power-Supplies/Corsair-AX750-Professional-Series-Gold-750-Watt-ATX-PS/2-Power-Supply-Unit-80-PLUS-Certified-/PSU1250/. I don't mind paying over the budget as long as it will be worth it in the long run.

Ok Thanks for the response. I've also heard Seasonic are a good PSU brand and are responsible for developing some of Corsair's PSU's. Is this any good: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-027-SS&campaign=pcm/googleshopping/PUP_Components___Power_Supplies/Seasonic/CA-027-SS&pup_c=gs

seasonic make the best psu, you are right they make the corsair psu , I believe the xfx one too .

my new pc have almost the same configuration as your ( 7950 instead of 670 , 16gb ram , and 2 ssd instead of hdd ) and I took an seasonic g series 550w.

I prefer it over my other hx750. My config draw on the psu about 360w, plus the g series 550w is capable up to around 650w draw before it shut down for safety.

to conclude ( sorry for long post :P ) if you dont plan doing major upgrade, my suggestion would be seasonic g series 550w.

I would recommend the Seasonic G-series 650w. The AX750 is definitely an excellent power supply, but it's not needed to get such a high-wattage unit with a rig like that, unless you plan on upgrading to a dual-card system or something in the near future.

according to some review, the 650w is not as good as the 550w ( reliability ) , maybe they were not made at the same time.

@mully , the power supply is really important in a config , the higher wattage isnt the better.I wouldnt want to put like 1000$ on a cheap power supply

some low brand will say they reach exemple 650w , when in fact they stuggle to reach that amount will being reliable and keeping the said certification.

It's why people sometime take an 550w for seasonic instead of an 800w from something like apevia.

If you dont plan to put like more ram , or another gpu , 550w is more than enough since your power is going to draw about 400w on the wall so around 360w on the psu
