You need a thunderbolt port on your laptop and an external gpu enclosure like the razer core. The product in your link was a pcie 1x to 16x converter and even if you could use it with your laptop, you would have very less pcie bandwidth so you would lose performance if your graphics card is powerful.

most laptops can push X1 2.0 and then Nvidia drivers will enable link compression allowing for more bandwidth. It's a feasible second setup style device.

Seems like an ok dock, would work unless your machine needs delay switch to prevent black screen during POST. Also has insulated cables which the GDC Beast lacks. Probably not a bad pick, honestly.
