So My sister  Owns  an HP compaq  6200 Pro MT  computer
Her  son wants  to play fortnite but they dont have  a  big budget so I think building a  new pc is out of the  question

 Cpu is  an i5 2400

Intel Hd  2000
4gb of  ddr3  1333mhz
Unkown psu but I think its  a 320w

Question #1  can I fit a  gt 1030 or a  1050(nonTI)  in there ( budget) also there is  size  concern
Question #2 Will the psu Hold up? If not  is it possible to  upgrade it
Question #3  I may Have some  ddr3  ram  laying around could I toss  them in that

Hi,

I know it's a little bit old post but I've got the same query.

Will GT 1030 be supported by Compaq 6200 Pro MT? Especially by its (kind of) ancient mobo/chipset. I can't recall correctly but may be I read somewhere that older OEM PCs tend to NOT support nvidia GPUs beyond 700 series.

Is this true?

Thanks very much.

Get something like this...https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B072BL9CRM/ref=psdcmw_284822_t1_B071DY2VJR

And add a 4gb ram stick

Ur PSU should theoretically support that GPU as it draws only 30W

Just found out on other forums that that hp 6200 is incompatible with newer cards.....The HP6200 series is cicra  early 2011. The GT 1030 is circa Apr 2017.

The HP 6200 BIOS is not upgradeable to the newer UEFIvBIOS of the GT 1030.

Be forwarned that the power supply is not an ATX supply.

Does this also apply to the OP? Or his specs are more suited to GT 1030.

My PC has 13 2120 3.3ghz, 4gb RAM and the same PSU.

Thanks.

Ok. So what you're saying is that this ancient mobo/chipset/bios as well would support a 730 right?

I don't understand buddy. His PC is compaq 6300 which apparently has an even better CPU than OP, let alone mine. May be the mobo/chipset too.

But will my PC (compaq 6200) support gt 730?

The gigabyte GV-N730D3-2GI rev. 2.0 specs say "Support PCI Express 2.0 x8 bus interface". According to the specs on HP's website, I've got 1 low-profile PCIe x16.
