HDMI not working properly?

I'm having a hard time connecting my windows 10 laptop with the tv with a HDMI cable and it seems that the tv doesn't display sound. That didn't use to be the case until yesterday.

Are the metal connector housings in the plastic bits tightly? Make sure that all audio sources have the volume turned up. Have you tried other HDMI ports in the TV?
