Hello LTT Community,

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Fortnite since the latest patch. I can usually play about 1-2 games before Fortnite crashes mid game. I was recently in the top 5 in solos and was very able to win... Just wondering if anyone else has had this error or if they know how to fix it. I can restart my laptop and it will work for another 1-2 games. I found only one other post about it from around 2 days ago on the Fortnite Forums, but I apparently do not have permissions to view the ticket. Here it is: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/forums/technical-support/hardware-support/216178-createfile-failed-with-32-error-after-game-crashes-and-wont-let-me-open-fortnite

Update on the situation, Admin rights does not work and reinstall has no effect on the crashing issue as well. Thanks for the ideas however

Otherwise, it could be this

Hello, if you chose "No" when asking for Easy Anticheat to be installed after the Fortnite update, you will need to install it. You will be unable to start Fortnite without this program. The easiest way to install it is to just exit the EAC launcher and run the game again from the Epic Games Launcher and click yes when the EAC install prompt comes up from Windows.

If the prompt doesn't come up for some reason you will have to install it manually following these steps:

Navigate to the Easy Anti Cheat folder in your Fortnite install directory [Default is C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\EasyAnt iCheat Folder]

Locate EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe

Double click the file

Click the install Easy Anti Cheat button

Start the launcher and Fortnite

I tried reinstalling the Easy Anti Cheat system, that was a great idea, however it made no difference. Thanks though!

  • 2 weeks later...

Any news to this topic?

I have the same problem and tried just everything... I can't even play one or two matches.

When I try to start Fortnite for the first time after restarting my Computer I have the error "another launcher is already running".

After this I have always the error 30005 (CreateFile failed with 32).

Hey, I unfortunately am still having this problem, I created a reddit post and Epic has finally created a ticket on their website about it. They just updated it today with another possible solution--I plan on trying it out tonight.

Here is the Epic Games forum: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/forums/technical-support/hardware-support/216252-createfile-failed-with-32-error-after-game-crashes-and-wont-let-me-open-fortnite

And here is the Reddit Forum.https://www.reddit.com/r/FortniteBattleRoyale/comments/84r744/error_code_30005create_file_failed_with_32/

As for your already running launcher problem, try opening task manager and end every task that resembles Epic games or Fortnite. Then try a restart.
