FPS issues while gaming in windowed fullscreen?

Hi!

 

im having issues while playing in windowed fullscreen. when i use regular fullscreen i can have 144fps and more but as soon as i switch to windowed fullscreen the fps gets caped at 60? why? it happens in every game i play and it its super annoying since i need windowed while i stream, any advice on what to do?

should be able to turn off the fps limit for Windowed Fullscreen if I recall plus any windows open behind the gaming window will hinder fps as it get seen by the GPU process even if not currently visible.

no fps limits are enabled from what i know... xbox-dvr is turned off, Vsync is off and the monitor is set to 144hz.. i have no clue on what the problem is... a gtx 1080 should be able to push the fps way above 60fps..

Double check your refresh rate, make sure it's set to 144Hz in Windows. If it is, try clean installing your GPU drivers.

monitor is set to 144 and new drivers didnt fix it..

What happens if you disable your secondary monitor(s)?

seems to work just fine when i unplug all the other monitors...

It probably has something to do with Nvidia's multi display option. In NVCP, there should be an option to control multi display performance under 3d settings. Try switching it to single display performance mode.

still at 60fps.. made no difference:/

Would running your second monitor off your IGPU be an option?

i have 3 monitors and 1 of them are running on the iGPU already
