What is NAS?

NAS stands for is network attached storage. No it can't be use as a normal hdd dock unless its hot swappable but you might as well by a dock . No it has it's own power supply. It doesn't matter what brand but if it's a Sata III enclosure I'd use Sata III drives that are 7200 rpm.
