Hey LTT!

For a long time I've been having issues with my computer. At first, the computer would not simply boot up at all anymore, so I bought a new PSU. The PSU fixed that problem but the computer would not turn on if my GPU was plugged in too. The computer stopped booting up again, so the only way to turn it on now was if I unplugged my HDD too, meaning that I would only have my SSD plugged in the SATA ports. The computer stopped booting up once again, so the only way I could turn it on was by flicking the power switch back and forth or wiggling the plug in the back of the power supply. I bought a new motherboard as well thinking that was the problem, but that didn't do anything so I returned it. I ran the Intel CPU Diagnostic to see if anything was wrong with my CPU and it said there was nothing wrong. Some other weird things that happen with my PC is that I get this weird white screen tearing at the top of my screen when I make games full screen, but if I turn MSAA on it fixes the problem (which sucks to do with iGPU). I really just want to get back to playing my games the way I should be playing them. Would flashing the BIOS fix the problem?

CPU: i7 4790k, MoBo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5, GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 760, PSU: Corsair AX 750

Bios update might help. If bios update didn't help the problem might be with the gpu or the drivers installed for the gpu. First try uninstalling the drivers of the gpu by downloading display driver uninstaller from guru3d and boot into safemode and then uninstall the nvidia drivers and then try to boot into system it dosent boot then again boot into safe mode and this time uninstall the drivers and also install the drivers from nvidia website in safe mode itself.

GPU isn't in the system, it won't boot with it.

I use Intel iGPU, and I've reinstalled drivers.

Did you try updating the bios and also changing from the pci e slot to other pci slots just to cross check.

No power or beeps. The PC will not turn on at all when my GPU or HDD is plugged in.

Just to confirm that the problem is not with the gpu try using another gpu in your system or use your gpu in another system to check whether the gpu is working or not. It looks like a gpu problem to me.

But the problems still happen without the GPU

I've replaced CMOS, but what would updating the BIOS do? I had the same problem with a different motherboard.

Try booting with just 1 stick of ram and try booting with that one stick in different ram slots.

Ram is a common culprit and often isn't obvious that it's the problem.

The ram stick must not be snapped down all of the way.

Keep trying different sticks and different slots. Make sure you're pushing down on it hard enough for it to snap in all of the way. It's easy to think you've got it in right when it's not.
