HyperX Cloud 2 Problem

 I have recently purchased a hyperx cloud 2 and i dont know how to get the mic on it to work.. 

 

Im using a asus gl552 laptop, the usb dongle that comes with it just doesnt work. It plays on speakers and it cant be found under sounds which is in control panels.

I tried using the spliter that also comes with it, however it only plays 1 side of the headset but the mic works.

i tried plugging the 3.5mm cable in individually to both audio port and mic port they work perfectly fine but obviously i wanted both mic and audio to work
