Revit 2017-2018 launch error

Whenever I try to launch revit 2017 or 2018 on my laptop I get the launch error "the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect".

I though I had found the solution in the laptop only running Windows 10 Home which isn't stated as being compatible, but then I saw a person from my study group launch it and he is also running Windows 10 Home.

I have so far uninstalled and reinstedlled about 5 times, with no result. As well as install different versions of Visual C++ also with no results.
If you have any ideas on how I can fix this I would love to hear it.
