Looks like the BIOS didn't have it's date set before installing the OS.

I think this has to do with computer time and overflow numbers. To summarize, computers tell time by counting up from a specific date, starting sometime close to 1970. If for some reason, the clock number goes way above normal, it resets back to that start date. I could be wrong, maybe I'm not explaining great, Tom Scott has a video about this.

Many prebuild manufacturers install operating systems based on a cloned image. When the image was created, I'd assume that there was no license associated with it until the system powers on. When Windows is installed with a nonexistent or pirated license you'll often see this date, which signifies the release of Unix.
