Replacement LCD for laptop

Well I'm having pretty old sony vaio which came with a 15.6 inch screen as it turned old the screen got damaged with a black hole so I decided to replace it. My laptop screen is an LCD with the 30 pin connector on the top right and 1 ccfl bulb and according to my research  any lcd screen which meet these requirements should work. But I also found few adapter cables which allows us to use left side connector screen with right side connector cable. top right 15.6 inch screens are a bit expensive so I'm thinking of using bottom right will it work as the cable in the laptop is flexible to bend so can be connected. These adapter cables, what I think they do is just extend the length of the cable from one side to another. And also there are no adapter for top to bottom connectors. Will it work if bend the cable. I checked the flexibility and it bend without any issue is the position only difference or even the connector pins? As I left the laptop and using my desktop for 1 1/2 years.

What is this adapter you mention? I have replaced many many laptop screens and yes the ribbon cable is flexy but you have to be careful seating and taping it as they can come off very easily and I can't help but think a cable adapter is not going to work well.

Usually you can find the model numbers on the back of the screen, google them, and find an alternative for not much money.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

I found the laptop screen model and the adapter name is Left to Right or Right to Left LCD converter cable and as my cable is meant for top right screens and as it is flexible  to bend will it work if it bend it and use it with bottom right lcd. and my lcd name is LTN156AT01 I opened it and checked it. By the way I'm planning to go for Brand new generic ones or branded used ones as already the laptop is pretty old.

Ok I can't see how an adapter would work in this scenario as the cable usually runs up the back of the screen and sticks onto it. They are all bendy and flexible and I just think you'd have issues. If you just put your LCD name into google shopping you can find direct replacement screens. You shouldn't need any adapters.

I mentioned the adapter just as an example and also getting exact replacement for less than 50$ might be a bit trouble as my father is not going to spend more than that

I can't speak for the US but for the UK all aftermarket replacement LCD's like these are about £40. It isn't much and is worth it if the laptop is worth saving.

Ok then and I'm from India and can you tell whether this is a good one as according to the listing it should work https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/lcd-led-laptop-screen-15-6_1585367471.html?spm=a2700.7724857.main07.29.5fb4f8e0AzYqi1

To be honest if it uses the same model number it should fit. The only main differences people miss when finding replacements is between MATTE and GLOSSY.

Both MATTE and GLOSSY and interchangeable right? I mean they will fit and will work.

Yeah its the finish on the front. If you are used to one, you're probably not going to like the other. Although IME I have had to use one or the other on occasions when one type is not available.
