Whatare the performance differences in a eMMC drive vs an ssd. And what exactly is an eMMC drive.

I hAve an unfinished pc build. Pls dont bully for not having one yet or i cry.

eMMC is generally garbage NAND with a garbage controller whereas an SSD usually has significantly better NAND and controller. E.g. eMMC is slow while SSDs are fast. eMMCs are more akin to an SD card than an SSD in terms of performance.

In a nutshell SSD is a removable, faster, more advanced drive while eMMC is a cheaper, slower drive soldered to a motherboard in a cheap laptop.
