Hi guys! I'm want to buy a new budget laptop but I'm slightly concerned about the gpu. I found a sweet spot on my budget but the laptop had GTX1050ti 2GB VRAM. I also thought that 1050ti only had 4gb vram until I saw the laptop.

How different is it from the normal 4gb vram? Does it really effect my gameplay? Do I need to get more RAM to compensate for the lack of vram? Plz help... Thx...

I have a laptop with a  GTX 1060 6GB. In most games I don't use more than 3GB, but I have used up to 4GB in intensive games like PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds. It all depends on which games you're going to be playing. Your GPU can take advantage of system RAM as video memory, but I'm pretty sure it's slower than the RAM on the GPU, especially in a laptop. In my opinion, more VRAM is always better, but if you're not playing super intensive games, 2GB should be fine.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

I usually play Overwatch... But sometimes DOOM.. I haven't played PUBG since I'm afraid that my specs aren't good enough. Thx for the advice
