UPGRADE MY OLD GAMING PC

pipi2787

The specs for my current pc are:

  • Graphics- Asus - GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card
  • CPU - Intel - Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
  • RAM - Corsair - Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
  • Motherboard -   Asus - Z87-K ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
  • Storage -  Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • PSU -  Corsair - Gaming 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
  • Monitor- BenQ - XL2411T 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor

It's obviously a few years old now and i'm thinking its time for a change. Ideally i would like to upgrade over time because i don't have enough to splurge on an entirely new build. My main purpose for this upgrade is gaming for next 4-5years at  1080p Ultra in game settings.

Thank you for taking the time to help:).

What's your budget? One thing you can do right now is add an SSD. That alone will make a big difference to things like load and boot times.

Upgrade with gpu and an ssd first. If you can get another 8gb stick of ram really cheap used, go for it, but dont pay too much as you will be upgrading the memory later when you upgrade cpu

CPU: Ryzen 1700@3.9ghz; GPU: EVGA 560 Ti 1gb; RAM: 16gb 2x8 Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000; PCPP: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b3xzzM
