OK so I need some help understanding what I've done. I've run some tests on my newly built htpc because I need to know how it will hold up in the hot as hell texas summer. Here's what I did, I ran prime95, I don't know if what I did was correct but I read somewhere to do that. Please let me know if I did the test correctly. Also can someone explain the results of this test? I wrote down temps and any info I thought was needed to explain the results. Temps in my house can reach upwards of 36.6c, texas and my home are HOT, that's just the way it is. The cpu cooler I use isn't supposed to be used with a cpu that has a tdp higher than 65w (dont know what that means). My i5-2500k has a tdp of 95w. Noctua says my cpu is still compatible, only if my system is not overclocked (which mine is not) and if the case is well ventilated (mine is ie: case fans and cable management) (see pics from my build log). I know the pics of my cable management don't look that impressive, but when compared to other builds that use the same case I do, you would be like "WOAH!"

So anyways can someone please explain if I'm getting good or bad temps and is there anything I should be worried about. Thank you for any suggestions and or comments. Oh yeah...if I posted this in the wrong place, mods, please feel free to move this post to the appropriate section. :)

Test results:

Cpu cooler: Noctua nh-l9i (Btw, someone needs to do a review of this cpu cooler...Ahemmm, linus *fake cough)

Idle temp: 37-40 (30mins)

Load: 64-67 (40mins)

Room temp: 26.6

CPU: 3.4 GHz (stock-No overclock)

Asus Fan Xpert setting: Standard fan profile

Fans: Noctua nf-f12 (1-front of case, 1-middle of case)

Those temps look fine given ambient temps.
