Is this normal?

Please move to corresponding thread. 

I just overclocked my ram to 2933 on Ryzen ( it is advertised at 3000mhz) and the PC got stuck in a boot that wouldn't reach the BIOS for arround 3-5 restarts then it was able to boot into windows but without the overclock. 

Does this mean that I should go lower with the overclock?

Did you also change the timings to what it says on the box?

You should just in case, update to the latest BIOS on your motherboard. It should be available on the manufacturer's website.
