Windows 10 lagging, sound stutter and chroma lighting stutter!!!

Hey!

My name is Emile and I've been having some issues with my computer recently. To sum up quickly:

- i7 4770 @3.4Ghz

- SLI GTX 970

- msi z97 gaming 5

- sandisk ssd (with windows installed on it)

I don't know what to do anymore, my cpu usage is at 5% while doing everyday tasks... no clue why it feels like jiggering my audio and chroma lighting on my keyboard. It can't be some wierd sound driver windows related BS, since I am using an external audio interface that is clean af, so it has to prolly be windows software related : /

would  be really appreciated if ur able to help.

thx,

- Emile

You can go to system task manager and look to see what programs are in use.

5% is nothing to be concerned about.

If you think its the sound device just remove it then test pc.

Try unplugging everything from your computer except for mouse, keyboard and power of course. Disable all the startup items in Task Manager and shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds then turn it back on. After it has fully booted, you can plug stuff back in if you need to but keep stuff that is plugged in to a minimum and also try not to open anything unless you need it to test if it still stutters.

Workstation:

Intel Core i7 6700K | AMD Radeon R9 390X | 16 GB RAM

Mobile Workstation:

MacBook Pro 15" (2017) | Intel Core i7 7820HQ | AMD Radeon Pro 560 | 16 GB RAM

I've been experiencing some serious lag on Windows 10 too, partly why I'm still on 7 xD Is it a recent install or have you had it for a while?

Apart from the silly issues in previous post Windows 10 pro been rock solid the last 9 months. Last  couple of creators updates installed smooth as butter for me.

Just baffled by this glitch chrome issue, today.

nope, doesn't do anything. It is probably not hardware related.

honestly I don't know, it's been present for a while now... I am afraid that only reinstalling windows would fix the issue : /

That may be true... You could always try something like Ccleaner, but unless your install is particularly messy it won't help very much. But it can't hurt to try!

Second, do you have a spare HDD or SSD you can install windows on, just to see if performance improves, without messing with your main install?
