Hi guy’s,

Longtime lurker first time poster,

my system I have had a while just wondering if there is anything worth upgrading specs are,

i7 950 @ stock speed

classified 3 mobo

12gb Kingston ram

evga 980 sli

I use a 27” 4K monitor sometimes 2 depends what I’m doing

i was looking at a full upgrade but the 1080ti are sitting at around £700-750 here in the uk and that’s a pretty big chunk of money,

i was looking at

Asus ROG  strix x299

16gb hyperx 2666Mhz

I7 7800x

Samsung 500gb NVme

Asus strix 1080ti 11gb

Corsair AIO cooler

Not sure if it’s over the top but I tend to keep my systems for a while and only upgrade or change if I have to I got the second 980 fairly cheap but not really sure it makes that much difference,

any help or info would be greatly appreciated

regards,

darren

Nope, don't go down that path at all.

Upgrade your CPU to this:https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-Six-Core-Processor-W3670-3-20-GHz-12MB-SLBVE/222780746935?hash=item33dec46cb7:g:ffEAAOSwywRaTOQh

Get 24GB of RAM, fill all 6 slots with 4GB DIMMS.

Sell your 980s on hardwareswap and buy a 1080Ti.

Hi thanks for the reply’s

if I just upgraded the gfx would the be an issue with bottle necking with the cpu

and or memory?

Yes, but a faster Xeon overclocked to 4.5 will have minimal bottlenecking at 4K.
