Hello,

I have 2 r9 280x cards I am running in crossfire.

I recently tried to switch the positions of the cards to see if the temperature will decrease.

After I switched the card positions, I reset the BIOS.

After this, only the top card works. Doesn't matter which card is in the top, the bios sees only the top card.

I thought the second skit was broken.. so I tested it with an old Nvidia GTX 520. The motherboard sees this gt 520. After this, I tried a GTX 780, and the motherboard saw it as well in the bottom slot....

So whichever 280x I put in the bottom, the motherboard doesn't see it, and both 280x cards work just fine...

Both 280x cards work... And clearly the last slot works since it will see the gt 520 and gtx 780. This makes no sense to me... How come all of a sudden its not working! How come it doesn't want to see the 280xs but will see the 520 and 780?

Any tips to fix this?

Thank you!

Specs:

Asrock 970FX Extreme 3 R2.0 motherboard.

AMD FX 8320

2x 280x

700 watt Thermaltake PSU

6gb DDR3

check in Your system registry if You have EnableCrossFireAutoLink

set to 1

also you can turn off EnableUlps (set to 0)

Okay, I will do that, but the second (bottom GPU) doesn't show up in BIOS, so I doubt that'll fix it. Doesn't matter which 280x is in that bottom slot. It just won't show. If I have only 1 in it, then it just shows no video signal. Only the bad gt 520 works in the bottom slot.

so this must be it, probrably some setting turned off, check your bios for some kind of crossfire/sli setting

There is no option. I'm not even running the crossfire bridge. I don't understand why only the bad Nvidia card works in that slot... Its driving me nuts.
