or is there a better mic i can use on my headset? ( has to stick to the headset, my desk is too small for on desk mics)

I don't know exactly how much you are looking to spend, but the Antlion modmic 5.0 (50ish dollars) is always a good option. The Massdrop Minimic is dropping right now as well. It is a lot cheaper than the modmic, but sounds just as good imo. They both use an adhesive mount to attach to the side of your headphones and the mic attaches to the mount magnetically. I personally have a Modmic 4.0 omni-directional and love it. If you want an example of the sound of it, you can try watching a few Optic Spratt videos on youtube. I'm pretty sure he uses it.

Antlion modmic ($55): https://www.amazon.com/Antlion-Audio-ModMic-Attachable-Microphone/dp/B00T6XUL8S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1514878923&sr=8-3&keywords=antlion%2Bmodmic&th=1

For some reason, I find that non-usb mics pick up a ton of motherboard noise and sound really quiet for me so you may want to pick up one of these as well:

Always happy to have someone recommend our products @kxrider85 (certainly a good option to replace a broken mic, about 15-20% of the people who buy ModMic are fixing a broken mic @General Winter).

As for the reason analog mics pick up a lot of static (EMI), and ours is no exception, is ... actually every mic picks up that static. However, a USB device simply filters out the noise. The static is still there, interestingly enough, and if you system throws off enough of it, even a USB can't overcome it :). The result is always USB signals are technically lower quality, but the removal of EMI is typically worth the decrease in recording quality. Still, its why "pros" use analog (usually XLR). The quality is unmatched if you have a clean system. Sadly computers are about as unclean as possible due to all the hardware inside them.

im not really a pro youtuber or anything of the sort so i don't really have a need or desire for a "pro" mic and audio, 7.1 does me Justice and usb is quite convenient, especially if i wanted to use it on my ps4 for instance (some 3rd party controllers don't have a headset jack so a usb headset is a solid workaround if its long enough, which mine is)

im all for better stuff, but  i can't say im inclined to invest more than i already have, the replacement was the cheapest option and its works well (no one has complained about the quality of my voice in that regard)

i think my point is to maybe have less expensive mics, if you can strike low cost and beat others in the lower price range while also being convenient and/or flexible (maybe a mic that has both a wired and wireless option, i haven't seen anything like that in audio before, I'm sure the technology is there so a device that is both wired and wireless would be a best of both worlds)
