Hi i overclocked my i5 4690k to 4.5ghz with voltage on 1.282   and its stable but when i shut down my pc wait 30 seconds then try to boot it up again it wont boot so the i take out 1 ram stick then it boots then i shut it down again put the ram stick back in then it boots normally and its stable again pls help me im getting tired of turning my pc around and unplug and the ram and then plug it back in i watched the linus tech tips guide for this cpu but no succes

If it happens again, try clearing your CMOS.

If the problem goes away, it was a bad overclock.

 

Don't think passing an Aida64 or prime95 tests means it's 100% for sure stable.

 

I've seen really demanding applications give a BSOD even after passing one of those stress tests.

They're great and they help, but they're not a guarantee.

 

If it comes back and you want to keep your overclock, turn up your voltage a tiny bit if you have temperature headroom, if not turn down your CPU multiplier.
