Standalone or steam?

Hello I just got a brand spanking new evga 1060 6gb today, and I was just wondering the differences of the steam and standalone download of evga's Precision XOC. I've never come across a download selection like this and cant figure out what it is to the best of my ability.

There's no difference aside from the fact that you'll always have Precision XOC in the Steam library. I would recommend using MSI Afterburner instead so that other members can help more directly as most of us use MSI/AB.

im just a neat freak and like software that matches my gpu

So did I, until XOC caused graphical issues in some of my games.

really was it from over clocking or just setting the fan curve like i wanna do? i got the smaller card, so i want quick access to a cool down just in case cause i like being prepared

Overclocking. Same settings with MSI did not produce the issues.
