So I recently got my hands on a new 240gb SSD and I am trying to move my OS over to it from my 2tb HDD. To do so I downloaded the easeUS master partitioning software. My problem came when I opened the "Migrate OS" wizard, it says that my 240 gig SSD is too small. Windows 10 takes up about 20 gigs so I'm pretty stuck here and can't figure out this problem.

Thanks for any help.

You need to get one of the bootable disk cloners, boot from it then do a none zero space clone.

The problem with Windows cloners is they can't move files in use so they tend to image the entire drive, including blank space then copy the image to the other drive. This is fine when both drives are the same but as you've found out, doesn't work to well if your drives are different sizes.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Do you have any programs that you would recommend? Preferably free

I've been using this for over 4 years, never once fucked it up.
http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool-Partition-Wizard-Free-Edition/3001-2094_4-10962200.html

I also use THIS specific download to get it.

Partition Wizard Free - You can choose to copy whats in use, (this is what ur after), + perfect clone, aligned and bootable.

It will reboot and copy files in a pre-windows environment so no files are currently in use to screw the copy process.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

When I use the wizard and choose to migrate ONLY the OS and keep the original HDD this program also says that my SSD is too small. The SSD has nothing on it and has 240gb of available space so I have no clue why it does this.

Should be more options available to 'fit' the currently used files only on the SSD from the HDD without error.
So it shouldn't try to copy 2TB onto the SSD but only the USED portion of the HDD data to be cloned.

Maybe try the copy function over clone.
